At the moment we are working in consultation with Sithand’Izingane Care Project, to set up a volunteer program. Mid – 2014 we hope to invite the first European Students, to visit the Sithand’Izingane Care project, on a 2 to 3 week volunteer program. The foundation strives to create the opportunity for young European students to take part in the daily life of the project, and the community. We strive to give the students the opportunity to exchange knowledge and exchange of experience.
Participants will live during this period at specially selected host families, and volunteer in the Township where the project is located. This will be accompanied by the staff of the project, but also by the foundation that will join the group.
The program will consist to cooperate in various parts of the project, such as the garden, the herb garden, kitchen and maintenance, sewing class, after-school care for the children, but also workshops with the Care givers and local collaborators in the project, as well as moments of reflection and contemplation on all the experience that one has during this period. During this period of volunteer work we will also pay attention to the country and culture of South Africa and various excursions will be organized in the area. When possible students can continue their volunteer work or when they want to travel in the country even further subsequent to this period may therefore seek the help of the foundation, who is supported by a official travel agency.
